Two days in and loving it....
Tēnā koutou whanau (greetings families),
I am so impressed with Pleasant Point Primary School. The tamariki (children) are the heart of any kura (school) and the children at the heart of Point Primary are absolutely lovely. They have really shown the school values. They are curious to know who I am, awesome in the way they conduct themselves, get on with their learning and enjoy their play and friendships, respectful in their classrooms and around the school and there is a sense of excellence throughout the school. The school is well cared for, the staff are well prepared, calm and super professional, and the environment is interesting, beautiful, diverse and set up for learning.
A particular thank you to Mrs Proudfoot, Mr Shaw and Mrs Williams who have supported me with answering questions and directing me where to go. Thank you to Mr Shaw who stepped up as acting principal in the period between myself and Mr Creba, and did an awesome job.
The children have started practising for Cross Country which will be on Friday 19th May. They've also been busy with Anzac work, painting, St John's Ambulance, fundamental motor (physical) skills, extension sport, technology and after school practices for rugby and hockey. That's just the things I've seen.
I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone better and to getting more involved with teaching and learning and life at Pleasant Point.
Kia pai tō rā whakatā (have a great weekend)
