As a SunSmart school, we follow the Cancer Society of New Zealand (CSNZ) recommendation that all students and staff wear hats that provide good shade to the face, back of the neck and ears when outdoors.

Wearing a sunhat is one of the four SunSmart behaviours recommended by the Cancer Society to protect these areas, between 10am and 4pm from September to April.

If your child needs a new sunhat please send see Penny in the office. There are two types of hats available: wide brim $13 and a bucket hat for $10. If students don’t have hats they will be required to play in the shade.

As well as making sure tamariki have a hat on, we also have Sunscreen spikes with Sunscreen available for children to use.
