More about the Board's decision
At its last meeting [15 June 2021], the Board resolved not to proceed with the proposal to remove the requirement for certifying practitioners to ensure that trainees working under their supervision work in their direct presence [or the direct presence of a nominated person], for the first 12 months of holding a limited certificate.
While the Board acknowledged that the majority of people responding to the consultation did support the proposal, they noted that there was not a significant response to the consultation and it could not be confident that there was widespread support for the proposal amongst the industry.
The Board would like to thank all those who took the time to make a submission.
