DanceNZmade Competition – National Winners

PNBHS —

After dancing their way into the DanceNZMade national competition finals, Zac Maskill, Jake Maskill and Noah Purcel were crowned national champions.

“Hey-Ya!” by Outkast starts to bounce around the walls of The Regent on Broadway. Audience members intensely stare at the stage with anticipation. A smile erupts onto their faces as Noah Purcell and Zac Maskill appear to levitate across the stage with Jake Maskill acting as their wrangler. A moment later the skateboards that Zac and Noah had been lying on to create the illusion are gone. An energetic, sharp, and upbeat dance routine follows.

Their self-choreographed number is a hit with not only the cheering audience but the judges too. Zac Year 13, Noah Year 11 and Jake Year 9 were announced overall champions of the Regional Duos and Trios section of the DanceNZmade competition held on Sunday, 6 September 2020 at the Regent Theatre.
