2020 Scholarship Results

PNBHS —

Scholarship is the highest New Zealand Secondary School qualification and requires young men to study and be assessed at a level higher than NCEA Level Three.

In 2020 young men from Palmerston North Boys’ High School earned a total of 32 Scholarship passes, including one Outstanding Scholarship.

Our highest achieving students were 2020 Dux Litterarum Paul Lee, who achieved Scholarship passes in Calculus, Economics and Religious Studies and an Outstanding Scholarship in Chemistry; Cameron Van Rynbach, who achieved Scholarship passes in Accounting, Calculus, Chemistry and Statistics; Jacob Mildenhall, who achieved Scholarship passes in Calculus, Chemistry and Physics, and Alex Cole, whose Scholarship passes in Calculus, Chemistry and Physics were achieved as a Year 12 student.

These young men will have their names entered onto the Academic Honours Board on the stage in the hall and qualify for Academic Honours Ties and it was a privilege to be able to make these presentations at an assembly earlier this year.

Honours Ties are presented only once. Paul, as the 2020 Dux Litterarum and Jacob Mildenhall, as the winner of a PNBHS Scholarship in 2020 both received Honours Ties at Prizegiving in 2020. Cameron was presented with his Honours Tie this morning and Alex will be presented with his at our 2021 School Prizegiving.

Congratulations to all young men who worked hard to earn Scholarship passes: George Ambridge (Calculus, Physics), Matthew Cao (Biology, English), Ciaran Carroll (English, Physics), Kevin Chen (Calculus, Statistics), Justin Lau (Calculus, Chemistry), Senuka Onel (Biology, Statistics), Cameron Giddens (Accounting), Robert Hindmarsh (Calculus), Eric Jiang (Calculus), Cyrus Rudd (Religious Studies), Blake Storrier (History) and Clancy Wu (Chinese).
