Term 4, Week 1: Rāhina ǀ Monday 9 - Rātapu ǀ Sunday 15 Whiringa-ā-nuku ǀ October

PNBHS —

Kia ora, Tēnā koutou katoa, Fakaalofa lahi atu, Tālofa lava kia orana, Mālō e lelei Mālō nī, Ni sa bula vinaka, Tālofa.

Welcome back for term four. We hope that your son has enjoyed the opportunity to take a break from school over the last two weeks and is ready to return to school. The coming weeks will be extremely busy for young men at all year levels. To help ensure your son's return to school is positive can we please ask that you check his grooming, in particular his haircut, to ensure that he is meeting our expectations.  Thank you for your support with this.

Help with Revision

While the thought of putting time and effort into revision for examinations is not something that appeals to many young men, it is essential that your son is doing everything he can to achieve to his potential in the upcoming NCEA and Junior School Examinations. Parents play an important role in supporting and encouraging their sons in this regard. Developing effective study skills is difficult in isolation and support to get started - everything from identifying an appropriate study space, creating a revision schedule and identifying appropriate strategies for different subjects and topics - are all aspects that parents can be involved with regardless of their knowledge of a particular subject. Further in this newsletter (or by clicking here) are a range of resources to assist; hopefully, the starting point for some important conversations and collaboration at home.
