Ben Shirley recently competed in the World Skate Oceania Championships in Brisbane. Ben attended the competition with a team of 30 skaters from around New Zealand and competed in Youth Figures, Youth Freeskating, Youth Solo Dance and Junior Quartet. He won three gold medals in his Youth solo events and a silver in the Junior Quartet event. There were skaters from Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Taiwan and India at the competition.

Term 4 is also going to be busy for Ben who will be part of the New Zealand team competing in Freiburg, Germany at the Figure World Cup.  Ben will be competing in the Youth Men's Figure event. Before the competition, he has the opportunity to train in Florence for a week with an Italian coach.
