As has become tradition, our Junior Prizegiving began with a rousing haka from our junior students.

The PNBHS haka was composed by Papa Manu Kawana (Rangitane and Ngati Raukawa tribal affiliations) in 2003.  Performing the haka brings our young men together with a sense of shared purpose and promotes a sense of belonging and pride in their school, as well as acknowledging the importance of Māori culture and tradition.

All students learn the school haka and take part in the Year 9 Haka Challenge. The Club Haka Challenge, which involves all young men in the school, began in 2019 and was immediately a very popular addition to our school events calendar.
