It was a great result for our A Chess team at the 2025 Manawatū Chess Regional Championships at Takaro Bowling Club earlier this month.

The PNBHS A Chess team comprising of Liam Ludick, Eric Diao, Leo Lawton and Harry Lu, took first place in the competition with eight match points in total. Liam, on 1st board, won 4 games and drew one. Eric, on 2nd board, won all five of his games. The team performed exceptionally well despite strong opposition from the teams of Feilding High School, Mana Tamaki and Longburn Adventist College.

Our PNBHS B team, consisting mostly of year 9 students, secured sixth place in the competition. Well done to everyone.
