Music Department Term 3 Update
Term Three has been a busy one for the Music Department. Students will look forward to a couple of weeks break before Term Four brings several final performances before prize giving and exam leave.
Term Three opened with a rapid-fire run of events including Open Day and the annual Music Roadshow, involving 100 students travelling by bus visiting eight primary schools over two days. As well as, MANifesto choir heading off to The Lower North Island Cadenza Festival in Hastings and coming away with a TUI/ Gold award.
To complete a hectic month we ended with the school concert, this year's theme was ‘The Art of Music’. Over two nights we showcased the best of the Music Department groups and soloists, as well as cultural performances from the Kapa Haka and Pasifika groups. Kade Kareko provided a superb beat boxing set and the PNBHS Hip Hop Dance crew, Jake Maskill and Camden Woodroofe provided impressive dance items. All these performances can be viewed on Youtube on the ‘PNBHS MUSIC’ channel. https://www.youtube.com/@pnbhsmusic2362
