It was fantastic to have Old Boys Callum McRae and Oscar Oswald speak to young men in the Sports Development programme this week.

Callum and Oscar both played in the Premier A Basketball team during their time at school and both were also selected in New Zealand age group Basketball teams. Oscar is currently studying and playing at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, while Callum is playing and studying for UC Riverside, in the NCAA Division 1 Basketball competition.

Callum and Oscar explained the importance of focusing on both your academic studies as well as your sporting activities in order to be successful. Their sporting scholarships are reliant upon high levels of academic achievement – quite simply if you are not performing with your studies you do not play.
