New and Refurbished D Block Classrooms Officially Opened

PNBHS —

At the beginning of the term, a ceremony was held to open the new and refurbished D Block classrooms. A project 11 years in the making, the new classrooms replaced those brought onto the school grounds as a temporary measure in 1978, classrooms D1 – D5. Classrooms D6 – D9 were installed in more recent years and have been extensively refurbished as part of the scope of the project. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the project and to Tangi Utikere, MP for Palmerston North, who officiated at the opening ceremony. Also present for the opening were staff from the Ministry of Education, WSP, Colspec, Proarch and the PNBHS staff who will be teaching in these classrooms. A huge thank you to PNBHS Property Manager Mr. Kevin McAnulty for his significant role in coordinating the project – we are incredibly fortunate to have his expertise.

After Mr. Utikere cut the ribbon to officially open D Block, a blessing was provided by Head of Te reo Māori Mr. Josh Strickland and Dean of Māori Student Achievement Mrs. Debi Marshall-Lobb.
