How Can Parents Help?
- Regular school attendance is essential. Please reach out for help if it is a challenge to get your son to school. Early intervention is essential as patterns of poor attendance are challenging to break once they become a habit.
- Time management is important. Work with your son so that he is planning his time effectively: use his school wall planner, buy him a diary to record homework, assessment due dates and other commitments that he has
- Check the Weekly Update for details of upcoming assessment deadlines
- Regularly check the Parent Portal
- Establish routines to assist with the completion of homework and assessment tasks and ensure an appropriate distraction-free time and space is available
- Getting enough sleep (8 - 9 hours every day) is essential
