Please find below a reminder of the arrangements for the annual Road Race that is to take place on Monday (12 April 2021).

All students are expected to compete in the race unless they have a genuine medical reason, accompanied by a note to the Deputy Rector.

If your son is a bus student, he will be transported to Ongley Park and back to school. Juniors who run in the first race (Under 14 as at 1st January) will be released from assembly first and will be transported by bus to Ongley Park, unless they are being taken by a parent/caregiver or are biking.

All other students will also be transported by bus to Ongley Park unless they are driving, being taken by a parent/caregiver, or biking. Please note; students are not permitted to walk to the park, as it takes too long and creates disruption through town.

Students can leave for home at the conclusion of the Road Race directly from Ongley Park. Any students requiring transport back to school will be bused back.

We would ask that you please remind your son to bring his lunch and a good amount of water to drink.  He will also require his equipment and books for the first three timetabled periods of the day.

We would also appreciate if you would please impress on your son the need to bring his club uniform, appropriate running shoes (for the road), white socks, sunblock and a sun hat (optional). In the event that the weather may be cold, he should also pack in his bag his school jersey and/or rain jacket.

UNDER 14 (as at 1 Jan 2021) 12.10pm

students born in 2007 or later are under 14 years of age

UNDER 15 (as at 1 Jan 2021) 12.40pm

students born in 2006 are under 15 years of age

UNDER 16 (as at 1 Jan 2021) 1.10pm

students born in 2005 are under 16 years of age

16 & OVER (as at 1 Jan 2021) 1.40pm

students born in 2004 or earlier are 16 & over
