Junior Black Football Team Win U15 Division 1 Title ⚽

PNBHS —

The PNBHS Junior Black (under 15B) football team kicked off their final game of the season sitting top of the league and needing a point to secure the league title. Their opposition was St. Peter's College Junior Boys 1st XI, the only team in the division Junior Black hadn't beaten. Junior Black took an early lead after Charlie Lawton converted from a defence-splitting pass from Josh Petch. However, a mistake led to St. Peter's equalising and it was 1-1 at the half. Going into the second half Junior Black wasn't settling for a point and was searching for all three. They were dominant in possession and in creating opportunities for themselves to score but couldn't find that final finish. Efforts from Tony Clinton and Ice Blackley were well saved by the giant in goal for St. Peter's and the match ended 1-1. The point took their total to 22 out of a possible 30 which meant neither of the chasing teams, being St. Peter's and PNBHS Junior Yellow, could catch Junior Black and the title was theirs.
