Palmerston North Boys’ High School receives a minimum level of funding over and above our operations grant. The school receives enough government funding to cover only two-thirds of what is required to provide the opportunities that we as a school offer. This means that the many extras we provide have to be funded through money we raise from our community i.e. school donations. These go towards additional teaching staff so that we can continue to offer a diverse curriculum with a wide range of subject options, additional support for learning assistance classes, support program for students who are struggling with their academic progress at all year levels, mentoring program for at risk students, ‘alternative’ classes at Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3, the literacy program, the Leadership program, the promotion of e-Learning initiatives and the expansion of our ICT network and resources, alongside a full range of sporting and cultural activities with teams and groups to cater for students of all abilities.
We encourage you to set up an automatic payment so that your account is in credit at the beginning of the school year. We are conscious that there is considerable financial pressure on many families and paying by instalments can help make school costs more affordable.
Payment in full or by instalments can be made either at the Finance Office or by bank direct credit. Please contact the Finance Office on (06) 354 5176 for assistance in setting up an automatic payment.
If you have any further questions or problems feel free to phone the school office staff on 06 354 5176
IMPORTANT
Organization for the academic year requires careful, deliberate planning. To this end, accurate roll/subject numbers are essential. If you have changed your mind and your son will not be attending PNBHS, please notify us immediately. Also, if there are recent changes to custodial issues relating to your son, please provide us with the appropriate information.
Please note: Any restrictions on access or communication with, or by a parent, MUST be supported by a court order.
