Old Boys Milne, Worker, Cleaver & Taylor named in the upcoming CD 2020-21 Season.

Congratulations to Old Boys' Adam Milne, George Worker, Dane Cleaver and Ross Taylor for being named in CD Squad for the 2020-21 season. The Stags’ roster packs plenty of experience. No fewer than seven of the 16 contracted players have represented the BLACKCAPS, while Dane Cleaver has played for New Zealand A.

The Stags are back together in training this week to begin the build-up for the coming season — play expected to start in October as usual with the opening round of the first-class Plunket Shield.

Ross Taylor was also one of several Blackcaps drafted overnight for the 2020 edition of the Caribbean Premier League.

The T20 league will be played behind closed stadium doors in Trinidad & Tobago this year due to COVID-19 with the legend Taylor to play for the Guyana Amazon Warriors. With the experienced Shoaib Malik missing this season due to international commitments, the inclusion of the Kiwi right-hander seems a like-for-like replacement. The 36-year-old has had previous experience with the Jamaica Tallawahs, Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel and St. Lucia Zouks, averaging 31.5 and striking at 110 in 36 games. A veteran of 273 T20 games, Taylor brings a wealth of experience to the Warriors line-up, and could very well be a candidate to lead the side this season.
