1st XI Football v Napier Boys' High School - Thursday 27 August

PNBHS —

PlaceMakers PNBHS 1st XI played Napier Boys' High School, winning 4–1. Our 1st XI started well, dominating both territory and possession early in the match, however it was Napier who created several opportunities, which fortunately, went unconverted. On both occasions, Brookyln Browne, in goal, saved the day.

Daniel McDougall and Ben Mori scored before the end of the half, to put our 1st XI into a comfortable lead. However, this was eroded soon after the start of the second half, when Napier struck back, capitalising on poor defending in the box. This seemed to stir our 1st XI into action, with Ben Mori and Jaiden Meyer finding the back of the net after being set up by a dominant Ryan Watson playing in the mid-field. Final score 4–1 to PNBHS. Of note, both teams were playing for the McGlashan Cup which was named in honour of Napier Boys’ High School's longstanding 1st XI Football coach, Peter McGlashan. PNBHS 1st XI were very proud to take the win and have their name on the cup for the first encounter.

The 1st XI would like to thank our team sponsors: PlaceMakers Palmerston North and JG Residential.
