Clay target shooters finish local circuit and eye nationals

PNBHS —

Our clay target shooters wrapped up the local circuit on Sunday September 10th. While Napier Boys’ High School dominated the series this year, there was a very tight arm wrestle for second place between ourselves and Lindisfarne College. Lindisfarne had a really positive day and managed to pip us by a few points to leave us in third.

Congratulations to the following boys’ who managed individual successes over the entire series.

Hayden Lourie who won the Skeet trophy.

Jacob Little who won the Single Barrel trophy

And William Campbell who placed third in the Points Score event.

The competition shooters now turn their attention to the North Island and National Championships which take place in Hamilton on the first weekend of the holidays.

Meanwhile our very keen ‘Newbie’ group have continued their steady progress. A squad of these boys were given the opportunity to shoot the last round of the competition circuit in Woodville. This is intended as a small nod to what awaits them next year should they wish to join the ‘competition’ teams. Each of these boys had at least one really good round.

Thanks, as always, to our sponsors, suppliers and supporters.
