What happens if my son has an appointment during the school day?

He should bring a note from his parent/guardian to the back of the hall before assembly detailing his name, form class, the reason for the absence, the time he will need to leave class and the estimated return time. A member of the senior management team will supply him with an exeat form to excuse him from school at the required time. Your son will be required to sign in with Mrs. Shorter at the Student Support Centre upon his return.

What should I do if my son is sick and absent from school?

Parents/Guardians are requested to inform the school by 9.00am at the latest each day, if a student is going to be late or absent from school. Phone 3545176 ext 761 and leave a message (this is a 24-hour service).

When your son returns from his absence he is required to provide a letter of explanation to the Rector at the back of the hall after assembly on the day he returns to school. Any student who is absent from school for three or more consecutive days due to illness may be required to provide a doctor’s certificate.

What happens if my son is late for school?

Students who arrive at school late must report to the Deputy Rector or Senior Masters, with a note explaining the reason for their lateness (this can be a medical appointment card), and obtain a student late slip. This late slip will need to be presented to their Class and/or Form Teacher as appropriate.

What happens if my son becomes unwell during the school day?

Your son will be directed to the Student Support Centre and, where necessary, directed to the sickbay and parents will be contacted to make arrangements for him to be collected from school.

A reminder that mobile phones are not permitted at school. Therefore, communication with parents/caregivers in regard to illness during the school day needs to be coordinated through the school office.
