7th to 8th place playoff for 3rd XI Hockey.

Recently the 3rd XI played in the quarter-finals of the Secondary Schools’ Division 1 competition. Unfortunately, we ran into the PNBHS Colts XI who were playing very well and we suffered a heavy loss. This relegated us to the 5th to 8th place playoffs. We played some of our best hockey of the season against Feilding Colts. After conceding two goals in the first quarter, the boys switched on and started to keep possession for long periods, using open spaces on the field very well. We scored two unanswered goals to even things up 2-2 going into the last quarter. Despite continuing to play well, the Feilding team managed to score two more goals late in the game. This 4-2 loss will mean our last game of the season will be a 7th to 8th place playoff in the last week of Term III. This is a little disappointing as the team was certainly capable of a 5th to 6th place in the league.
