Earlier this term a team of 17 swimmers competed at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Swimming Championships in Wellington. The team performed exceptionally well, finishing as the 2nd placed overall and boys school on points, as well as 2nd in the boys' relay points. The team recorded a total of 62 personal best times from 108 total events swum, with 48 top 10 placings. 

The Senior Boys' relays were a particular highlight. In winning the 4x100m Free Relay, all 4 swimmers went under the previous individual school record for the 100m Free. For the team to also win the 4x50m Free Relay and only beaten by 0.18 of a second to finish 3rd in 4x50m Medley Relay was outstanding.

Eric Wong was the top performing individual with 6 silver and 1 bronze medals and a school record in the 50m Breaststroke. Josh Carroll and Alex Odom both got silver medals with Alex breaking his own 50m Senior Backstroke School record in the process. Alex Willis broke the Senior 100m Free school record in the lead off leg of the relay. Cole Phillips was immense, especially doing 50m freestyle in relays. Three times he managed to be in the 22 second range for a 50m relay split, which is incredibly quick.
