Deputy Head Prefect Henry Speedy
"Hello, my name is Henry Speedy, and I am one of the Deputy Head Prefects in 2025, along with Nadith Rathnayake. I also have the privilege of being the Head Boy of College House. I grew up on a sheep and Beef farm in Herbertville on the coast out of Dannevirke. I love to get out and play with my mates and get involved with lots of sports, particularly rugby.
In my previous four years with Murray, we have managed to win the Shand Shield so I’m hoping we can do it again this year. I am looking forward to this role and am excited about what the year holds and the things I can offer. PNBHS has offered me so many great opportunities over the past four years and I am looking forward to helping people enjoy and create their own opportunities. Some of my goals for this year are working along with the Prefects to support Tristan and getting involved with the junior school. At College House, I am looking forward to working with our Year 9 and helping them through their events such as the Niger House rugby match and Round the Valley relay."
Deputy Head Prefect Nadith Rathnayake
“My name is Nadith Rathnayake, and I am one of your Deputy Head Prefects for 2025, alongside Henry Speedy. I am also the Deputy Club Captain of Phoenix.
Originally from Sri Lanka, I moved to New Zealand 11 years ago with my family where we have since been dairy farmers. The transition was a significant change, but it taught me a lot about adapting to new environments while still holding true to the values I grew up with. This has shaped my approach to life and my leadership style.
Beyond academics, I have a strong passion for sports, including football, badminton, table tennis, and the outdoors. Music is another key part of my life—I enjoy singing and am part of MANifesto choir and the Senior Concert Band.
I look forward to working with my fellow Prefects to build on and continue the success of the school and to support Tristan Chambers. One of my key goals is to strengthen the brotherhood by promoting involvement in school activities like Shand Shield so boys can form stronger connections, take pride in the school and continue its legacy. ”
