Automotive at PNBHS

PNBHS is thrilled to have started our latest initiative, an Automotive course for our year 12 and 13 students. We now have a workshop facility on school grounds, which is equipped with three hoists and a wheel alignment machine along with a variety of automotive tools and equipment. The course has been set up to provide young men with a range of skills and knowledge in the automotive industry, such as vehicle servicing, engine reconditioning, car restoration, vehicle repair, wheel alignment and basic workshop admin.

This has already proved to be a popular subject choice, with many young men taking part in this course. Already the boys have been hard at work learning how to remove an engine and transmission assembly out of a 1978 Pontiac Firebird and have been making progress on our 1996 Honda Civic project along with general servicing tasks.

We are excited about the potential of our new programme and the positive impact it will have on the young men who will progress through this course and may embark on a career in the automotive industry, or those who choose a different pathway with the skills and knowledge they will acquire.
