Morning Tea for Year 13 Accelerate Students by PNBHS

University Study - 2022

Palmerston North Boys’ High School has developed a positive relationship with a number of New Zealand universities, and university papers are taught in a number of subject areas at PNBHS by our staff members. Additionally, a number of young men complete papers outside of these offerings via distance learning.

This year our young men were entered into a total of 95 first-year papers and achieved 29 A+, 16 A and 16 A- grades – 65% of the total. The top performers were: Lucas Richardson with 3 A+ grades and Aadesh Ganugapati, Morgan Lee, Jacob Waugh, David Wu, Chisora Hada, Mitchell Liang and Carter Underwood each with 2A+ grades.

Congratulations to all of the young men who have earned the privilege to study at this level.  Doing so requires determination and dedication as they need to achieve NCEA Level 3 and the University Entrance qualification by the end of Year 12.  Of note is that the young men who are successful in the Accelerate programme are generally heavily involved in all aspects of school life - co-curricular activities, service activities for the school and community and the Barrowclugh Award - a great example for their peers at all year levels.
