Year 9 Haka Challenge

Congratulations to all of our Year 9 students who competed in the annual Haka Challenge earlier this term. The outstanding performances and high level of competition showed the commitment and dedication that had gone into learning the school haka.  

Kua tū rangatira koe, hei raukura mō tō tātou kura (You stood like a champion for our school)

KAEA

Congratulations to the young men who stood up as Kaea (group leader) for their form class.  The standard was very high with only four points separating first to third placings. First was Lenny Hansen-Wall (9ML), second Oliver Maraku (9KR) and third Noah Mokalei (9MG).

FORM CLASS

The form class competition was tightly contested with very few points separating the top placings:

First place - 9RS

Second place - 9KR

Third Place - 9TD

At the conclusion of the Haka Challenge our senior Kapa Haka and Te Reo students took to the stage to haka to the Year 9 students in acknowledgement of the hard work that they had put in, with the Year 9s responding in kind - video below:
