Secondary Schools Shearing Competition - NZ Rural Games

On Saturday, March 11 the PNBHS Shearing team of Orlando Ratima, Ernie Fowler, Jamie Bennett and Henry Speedy, along with Wool Handlers Alex Glasgow and Alex Bennett, competed in the Secondary Schools Shearing Competition at the New Zealand Rural Games.  

This was a great experience for these young men, representing the first time 'show shearing' for many of them.  In the weeks prior to the event many of the team, along with a number of other senior students, had completed a shearing course with our PITO (Primary Industries Training Organisation) tutors and form speed shearing champion Jimmy Samuels.
