Covid-19 Updates:
Visiting the School Office and Finance Office
As per changes to Ministry of Health regulations, it is no longer necessary to scan in when visiting the school office or Finance office. However, mask use in indoor environments is still mandatory.
We want to keep visitors to the school to an absolute minimum. Consequently, our preference is for you to make contact by email or telephone – 3545176 or admin@pnbhs.school.nz for the Main Office, 3545176 ext. 799 or finance@pnbhs.school.nz for the Finance Office.
If you are picking
your son up for an appointment, please arrange to meet him outside the school
gates. If you are required to pick your
son up during the day because he becomes unwell please ring the main office
when you arrive at school and he will be escorted to the front door by the
office staff.
Rostered Learning From Home
We are beginning to see a downward trend in terms of the number of positive Covid-19 cases in our school community. This mirrors the data for the Mid Central District Health Board region and hopefully indicates that we are past the Omicron peak. While there are fewer young men and staff absent because of isolation requirements, the number of both absent staff and students is still much higher than normal. A reminder that because of this situation rostered learning from home will continue until the end of term one.
We are planning on a return to normal face-to-face teaching arrangements for the beginning of term two and ask that young men and whānau also plan for this. However, our ability to return to ‘normal’ will be dependent upon the number of teaching staff who are isolating at the beginning of the term. We will email our parent community on Friday, April 29 (the last day of the school holidays) to confirm the arrangements for the following week.
Thank you again for your ongoing support throughout the term. We are now in the third year of the pandemic and are very conscious of the impact this has had on our community, especially our young men. They continue to be at the centre of our decision making.
