MANifesto - School Concert 2023 by PNBHS

Music Department News

As we near the end of a very busy year for the Music Department it is time for the last round of performances.

On Thursday,  September 21, Stage Band will host fellow National Jazz Band-it finalists Burnside High School for workshops with the legendary Sir Rodger Fox before a combined evening concert at the Salvation Army Citadel on Church Street, starting at 7.00pm with a gold coin entry. This is a great chance to see two of the top student jazz bands in the country. Both Bands will then head to Wellington for the finals on Saturday at the Memorial Theatre at the Victoria University School of Music.

Next term will see the final performance from our top choir MANifesto, after their Tui [gold] award at the Lower North Island Cadenza. They will combine with PNGHS Cantatrices for a concert starting at 2.00pm at St Peter's Church in Ruahine Street on Saturday, October 14. Gold coin entry.

Finally, we will showcase all of our brass and woodwind players in our end-of-year Concert Bands’ Concert at the Salvation Army hall on Thursday, October 19 at 7.00pm.

Year 9 Band, Symphonia, Senior Concert Band and Stage Band will present brackets to show how they have progressed this year. This should be a great fun night to show how successful the Classroom Concert Band program is and how many talented musicians we have. Entry is by food items for the Salvation Army Food Bank or a gold coin.

We would love to see you join us for one or all of these concerts.
