The 1st XV began their training camp week on Monday and were very privileged to have a session with the current Head Coach of the Australian 'Wallabies' Rugby team, Mr Dave Rennie yesterday.
Mr Rennie having previously coached teams such as; the Chiefs, Manawatu Turbos, Wellington Lions, NZ U20's, and more recently overseas Glasgow Warriors; joined the PNBHS 1st XV on their first day of training camp.
Mr Rennie organised a skills and decision-making coaching session with an emphasis on keeping the ball alive and working hard off the ball. The key messages for the boys were around simplicity and continually developing their skills to underpin their natural instincts.
The 1st XV would like to wish and thank Mr Rennie all the best of luck in his future endeavours as the Wallabies coach (his first four games are against the All Blacks after all). The team is certainly appreciative of his time and expertise.
