Table Tennis

Week 9 saw the end of the Term 2 Manawatu Secondary Schools team competition and the Manawatu Secondary Schools individual age group competitions.

In the teams competition, the school had 84 registered table tennis players who were divided into 27 teams: 4 in the Premier Grade, 5 in Division One, 8 in Division Two, 5 in Division Three, and 5 in Division Four.

The school won both the 2nd Division and the Premier Division.

For winning the Premier Division, the school was awarded the Trophy Specialists Cup, this is the 8th time in ten years that the school has won this trophy.

The winning Division 2 team was “PNBHS Dreamers”. The Dreamers team members were Joe Hodson and Matt Phillips, while Jamie Smith won the prize for the top individual player in Division 2.

The winning Premier Division team was “PNBHS Invincibles”. The Invincibles team members were Callum McKinnon, Mike Sung and Akshay Aneesh. Akshay won the prize for the top individual player in the Premier Division.

Recently, players from the school competed in the Manawatu Secondary Schools individual age group competitions.

The school had twenty Under 15 players entered.

Fraser James and Anthony Tong finished 3rd equal in the U15 Competition. Mike Sun finished in 2nd place.

Akshay Aneesh was the winner of the Manawatu Secondary Schools U15 Competition.

There were thirteen Boys’ High students entered into the U19 Competition

Kaushal Patel finished 3rd equal. Sam James finished in 2nd place.

Callum McKinnon was the winner of the Manawatu Secondary Schools U19 Competition.
