International Students South Island Tour

From 11 to 23 January 2021, Mr Retemeyer (Director – International), Mr Davidson (College House Manager), Mr Benn (Academic Dean) and Miss Mitchell (International Student Coordinator) took 32 of our international students who, unfortunately, are unable to return home due to COVID-19 on a tour of the South Island of New Zealand in four vans. We stayed at various hostels across the South Island; the boys were very well-behaved and took part in a multitude of activities that put them out of their comfort zone, and that they thoroughly enjoyed. Over the 12 days, we visited Picton, Christchurch, Lake Tekapo, Queenstown, Te Anau, Wanaka, Franz Josef, Westport, Kaiteriteri Beach and Nelson. Some of the activities they did included bungy jumping, sky diving, jet boat rides, gondola, luge, Antarctic World, boat cruise, visiting glow worm caves, Puzzling World, Shantytown, hydroslides at Jellie Park pools, plenty of swimming, as well as taking in some amazing scenery. Well done to all those involved!
