Head Prefect Jacob Dredge

In his concluding message at the first Prefect's Assembly for 2021, Head Prefect Jacob Dredge highlighted the importance of moral courage, especially when you are going through tough times and could do with the support of those around you: “In life you will be in dark place some times…if you aren’t feeling good about something, tell someone, it makes it far easier to get through the tough moments when there are people by your side helping you.”

Whakaheke e waho, whakaheke e tua, whakaheke kia tau mai rā, te mauri tū, te mauri noho, te mauri o ngā tipuna, koia rā te ruruku, ruruku tia kia ū kia mau.

Tena koutou katoa,

My name is Jonty Fleck and I am the Deputy Head Prefect of PNBHS and Head Prefect of College House for 2021. I am looking forward to what this year's Prefect group has in store for the school year. Our large Prefect group of 40 students shows the quality of young men who are leaders in the school this year. Coming fresh out of a historic year for New Zealand, as we fought our battles against Covid-19, we want to remind the student body of what our school culture is about. With a full school year ahead, provided Covid-19 doesn’t interrupt again, we are looking to immerse the student body into the school culture once again. We are going to achieve this by holding events, competitions, and challenges involving the whole school. This will range from things like performances during Prefect assemblies, to holding mini sports competitions during lunchtimes. I am looking forward to giving back to the school and community with a great group of lads representing the PNBHS prefects for 2021.
