Elyjah Crosswell - Head Prefect's Message for our Junior Students by PNBHS

Junior Prizegiving Address from Head Prefect Elyjah Crosswell

The final official duty for 2020 Head Prefect Elyjah Crosswell was to deliver the Head Prefect's address at the Junior Prizegiving - this year a message specifically for our junior students.

"Kia ora koutou and welcome to our 2020 junior prizegiving. It has been an interesting and challenging year for us all, but a year in which we must look at the positives and can be grateful for all that we have experienced and all that we have learned.

Congratulations to each and every one of you who have received awards, trophies and recognition at Prizegiving today. I encourage the rest of you to strive to do your best in everything that you do in your remaining years at Palmy Boys’ - whether that be in the classroom, on the field or on the stage. I urge you to take every opportunity that you can, leave no stone unturned. Your time will be over before you know it so make sure that you can look back and be proud of your time here and proud of your effort - do your absolute best in everything that you do and that’s all anyone can ask of you.

Success is hard work, it’s persistence, it’s late-night, it’s rejections, it’s sacrifices, it’s discipline, it’s criticism, it’s doubts, it’s failure, it’s risks. Don’t be afraid of failure - that risk you’re afraid to take could change your life. You are the future of Palmy Boys’ - wear the crest with pride. Live by our values. It has been a pleasure to serve as Head Prefect this year. I wish you a safe and happy holiday —-- re-set and re-charge and be ready to take on new challenges and go one better next year."
