Junior Black Sox Squad

Congratulations and good luck to Jaden Hita and Joe Simpson-Smith, who have been selected in the Junior Black Sox squad to begin preparations for the U19 Softball World Cup in 2023.

A 33 man squad has been named for two camps to be held over the July and October school holidays. Selected players have been grouped into three teams; teams recognised after three softball greats in Dale Eagar, Carl Mossman, and Terry Nunns. Following these camps and national tournaments an internal tournament between the three teams will be held before the final selections for the Junior Black Sox team to compete in the World Cup are decided.

Both Jaden and Joe are highly committed to their sport and play for teams in the Wellington competition.  Jaden, as a Year 11 student, is the youngest player selected for the squad.
