1st XI Hockey

In April, the 1st XI Hockey teams 2022 campaign got underway, with 20 young men heading to Hamilton to play in the St Paul's ANZAC Invitational Tournament. This tournament is an ideal pre-season fixture that allows final team selections to be made and exposes players to quality opposition.

The results of this tournament were:

Auckland Grammar School 7 – 2 loss

Westlake Boys; High School 5 – 0 loss

St Paul's Collegiate 2 – 1 loss

Hutt International Boys' School 4 – 1 win

Whangarei Boys' High School 1 – 0 win

From this tournament, the 1st XI Hockey Team was selected. 

The 2022 team is:

Samuel Bayley, Tom Bayley, Ethan Campbell, Zach Carline, Tom Collier, Ollie Davidson, Hunter de Ridder, Thomas Duncan, Alex James, Zachary Lee, Max O'Connor, Carter Rhodes-Robinson, Will Roberts, Joshua Smit, Riley Theobald, Carter Underwood.          

Zach Carline has been named Captain and Tom Bayley Vice-Captain.

The 1st XI Hockey team will play in the regional Intercity Secondary School Competition. Two matches have been played in this competition to date. Both games were recorded as wins for the 1st XI with a 2-nil win over Rathkeale College and a 7-nil win over Feilding High School.

The Super Eight Hockey tournament will be played in Palmerston North this year, as well as Rankin Cup.  We are looking forward to being able to host these tournaments.
