NCEA Presentation by PNBHS

NCEA Matters

Earlier this term Mr van Stipriaan and Mr Pinder met with the Year 11, 12 and 13 students to familiarise them with their NCEA Provisional Record of Achievement and their NCEA Subject entries.

Students are now aware of Numeracy & Literacy requirements, Subject & Year Level Endorsements and credits required at each academic level.

The next steps for these young men are to;

  • Kōrero with their subject teachers and their caregivers to make sure they are heading in the right direction.
  • Make sure they have a Plan A but also a Plan B in case their first option falls through. They should be actively researching these options now rather than waiting until the last minute.
  • Book a meeting with the Careers Advisor and/or Senior Master to start to think about their future beyond PNBHS. There are plenty of opportunities at PNBHS for young men to explore opportunities beyond PNBHS and there are lots of jobs available for those that are qualified and organised.
  • Year 11 students that missed the meeting or have questions relating to the meeting should contact Mr Van Stipriaan. Year 12 and Year 13 students should contact Mr Pinder.

Miss Taylor, the NZQA Principal's Nominee, has been meeting with Year 11 students during Form Time to take them through the process of logging into the NZQA website.  Through the NZQA website (www.nzqa.govt.nz) young men will be able to track their NCEA results.  This is also how they will be notified of the outcome of their external examinations early in 2023.  Students are also responsible for making any changes to their address details and other contact information through the NZQA website.

The NZQA website also contains a wealth of resources to help students with their assessments.  Examiners reports, annotated exemplars at Achieved, Merit and Excellence  level for external standards as well as marking schedules - click here to access the NCEA Subject Resources.
