Old Boys' Golf Day Sunday 11th April, Manawatu Golf Club.
Old Boys Golf Day 11th April 2021  by PNBHS

The PNBHS Old Boys' golf day was held on Sunday at the Manawatu Golf Club. 26 teams participated, a record entry number. The team from Naylor Lawrence and Associates were the overall winners of the day. Thank you to all sponsors and teams that entered to make the day such a good one.

Special thanks to McDonald's and Morgan Laurenson for their contributions to the Golfer's brunch, The Mad Butcher for his on-course BBQ and Parker Brothers/Bootleggers for their on-course Gin Bar. The gin stop was new this year and was a very successful addition, many enjoyed the change in taste from the other refreshments that were on supply from the cart that roamed around the course.

A big thank you to Luke Irving, CEO of Fingermark who amazed us with his business growth and success story in the clubhouse after the golf had finished, it is great to hear about the successes of our old boys.

Six great raffle prizes were donated from Hunting and Fishing, Rangitikei Meats, Vining Group, Altherm Window Systems and Manawatu Knitting Mills. Every team entered got to choose a prize off the table in order of their finishing place, with the last team receiving some lovely pink plastic flamingo watering cans along with a golf lesson! There were some awesome prizes donated from various businesses, thank you so much. Thank you to Manawatu ITM for the use of their BBQ and the Manawatu Golf Club for hosting us for the day.

The funds from golf day have been distributed to the Colts rugby boys who helped out all day on the BBQ's - they are heading to Christchurch later in the year for their Colts National Tournament. The remaining funds have been put towards the architectural drawings being prepared by Proarch for our proposed Old Boys Pavilion project, that we are hoping to launch and build in the near future.

Thank you to all the teams that entered, the hole sponsors and those that donated prizes, without you all our day wouldn't have been so successful.
