PNBHS Canoe Polo Fifth at National Tournament

A young PNBHS Canoe Polo team played in the 5th and 6th place playoff against Feilding High School at the national tournament winning 5-3. This was a great game and a good result for the team. The highlight of the National tournament was Sam Hawinkels being named in the Tournament Team, the only Manawatū player to be selected.

Riporipo Mural Project - Winning Concept

At the end of 2023, the school applied for a Creatives NZ Grant that would enable ten selected students to work alongside an artist to create a mural at school - the application was successful.

Students from Year 10 – Year 13 worked alongside artist Heneriata Te Whata to design several murals that were influenced by the values of the school and the principles of whakawhanaungatanga. The project aims to acknowledge diversity and strengthen connections between students, as well as nurture a sense of collective identity, unity and belonging.

Last week, the school community voted for the mural concept they wanted to see painted on the canteen wall. After a few minor adjustments to the concept, painting will start during the holidays.

We are happy to announce the winning design is pictured above.
