New Zealand Short Course Swimming National Championships

Six swimmers from PNBHS competed for their clubs at the recent NZ Short Course Swimming Nationals in Hawke's Bay. All six swimmers had top ten placings in their age groups.

Alex Odom competed with distinction in the 17/18-year-old age group with six top ten places from six events including personal best times in every event.

Alex also made the Senior Open finals in both the 50m Back (6th place) and 50m Fly (7th place). Alex broke multiple Manawatu age group and senior records during the meet.

Eric Wong continued his good form from Secondary School Nationals and gained silver medals for both the 50m and 100m Breast in the 14-year-old age group. He also gained five other top ten placings. Eric broke two Manawatu age group records.

Sam Rowe had seven top 10 placings in the 14-year-old age group. Jack Rowe had three top ten results in the 16-year-old age group. Both Alex Willis and Josh Carroll competed in the 17/18-year-old age group with Alex gaining five top ten placings and Josh gaining two top ten results.
