Deakin and Leon Payne represented the Palmerston North Judo Club at the Auckland International Judo tournament during the July school holidays and achieved some impressive results. Deakin won Gold in the 50kg Cadet Men division and Silver in the 60kg Junior Men division, while Leon won Silver in the 36kg Senior Boys division.

During the July school holidays the following school athletes had success at the Manawatu - Whanganui Cross Country Championships, held on 17th July at Bason Park, Whanganui. Conditions were tough, the course had steep hills, was heavy underfoot, with intermittent heavy rain, coupled with strong winds.

Max O'Connor - 4th Under 18, Race distance 6km
Nelson Doolan - 1st Under 18, Race distance 6km
Additionally, Old Boy Andre Le Pine Day - 2nd Under 20, Race distance 8km

Congratulations to Nelson, who was selected in the Manawatu-Whanganui U18 Cross Country team to compete in Dunedin in early August.
