Wilson Hannon was successful at the North Island Road Cycling and North Island/National Track Cycling Championships in Cambridge during the July school holidays.  At the North Island Road Cycling Championships, Wilson was 1st in the U17 Criterium and 2nd in the U20 Road Race. At the North Island/National Track Cycling Championships Wilson was 1st in the U17 Omnium and also won the North Island Secondary Schools U17 Individual Championship, and he was second in New Zealand.

Joe Inman competed in the New Zealand Brass Band Championships during the July school holidays, achieving some impressive results against strong competition.

Joe placed second in the Under 19 Air Vaire solo competition and third in the Under 19 Slow melody solo - a great achievement for a 17-year-old in a field of 32 competitors.  Joe was also part of the Brass Whanganui Band, who won the New Zealand B Grade Championship.
