Quinn Steed Selected for Pukemiro Station Cadetship

Congratulations to Year 12 student Quinn Steed, who has been selected for the Pukemiro Station Cadetship programme beginning in January 2022.  Only three cadets are taken on each year, so selection is a great achievement.

The Pukemiro Station Cadetship is a two-year programme.  It's hands-on, focused both on the farm and in the classroom, with cadets living on site in their own cottage throughout the duration of the programme.

Cadets receive:

  • Practical on-farm training in all day to day operations of Pukemiro Station including stockmanship, fencing, animal husbandry, feed management and farm technology to name a few.
  • Personal training and growth such as cooking, leadership, goal setting, time management and up keeping their living quarters.

Cadets work towards:

New Zealand Certificate in Agriculture (Vehicles, Machinery and Infrastructure) Level 3, New Zealand Certificate in Agriculture (Farming Systems) Level 3 and the New Zealand Certificate in Agriculture (Breeding Livestock Farming) Level 4​.
