PNBHS Lawn Bowls Championships by PNBHS

PNBHS Lawn Bowls Championships

Well done to all of the young men who competed in the annual PNBHS Lawn Bowls Championships held recently at the Palmerston North Bowling Club on Linton Street. After some intense qualifying matches, the final was a thriller between Hunta Gledhill and 2021 champion Johnny Wilkshire. Hunta established an early 6 – 0 lead but Johnny fought his way back into the match to tie it up 6 all going into the final end. Hunta was able to hold his composure and take the win 7 – 6. Congratulations to Hunta and also to Jack Nevill, who won the plate competition. A huge thank you to the Palmerston North Bowling Club for hosting us.

Fred Hollows Day 2023 by PNBHS

Fred Hollows Day

Thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising efforts for the Fred Hollows Foundation by buying a sausage, making a donation or trying out the cataract glasses.

Thank you to the Commerce Department for their ongoing support. Each year any profits generated by the Trade Fair groups are 'taxed' and that money is donated to the Fred Hollows Foundation.

Special thanks to Deputy Head Prefect Connor Puanaki for his organisation and assembly presentation.

Fred Hollows is an Old Boy of PNBHS, attending from 1943 - 1947 and it is a privilege to be able to support the life-changing work started by him. He was one of the inaugural inductees into the PNBHS Business Alumni in 2012 - click here to read more about Fred and his legacy.
