Two of our new Year 10 Librarians in 2020 are Jackson Hesp and Felix Shaw by PNBHS

Library News

Thank you to our hard working Student Librarians!

Some have excelled in their work like Kris Harrowfield, who has covered the incredible number of 447 books for the Library – plus 95 for the English Department. Ethan Shingleton has covered 141 books and Kester Lucas and Ali Alaswad have worked hard with covering and mending. William Hince has almost fulfilled his Silver Level Award for hard work. These are all Year 12 students so we look forward to another year of enjoying their company and excellent work!  Year 9's can apply at this time of year to join the team as the seniors leave for Study Leave and NCEA exams.

Don’t forget the ongoing Year 9 Reading Challenge where the students who read 15 books gain a Bronze Certificate, 30 books a Silver and 60 books a Gold! Those who achieve these goals are awarded their certificates by the Rector at Assembly and get a morning tea shout to celebrate.

Surprisingly despite Covid-19, our Year 9 book issues have increased from 2019. With our improved graphic novel collection, this type of book has doubled in usage.
