March Library News

Our library is a Device-free Zone, where students enjoy boisterous chess games (which have suddenly become extremely popular), Blokus and other board games as well as enjoy playing our guitars and the keyboard. This is all instead of sitting behind their laptop screens at Interval and Lunch. Our desktop computers are there for schoolwork for desperate students but not for entertainment.

Congratulations to Tyler Fleming who is our Head Student Librarian and to Jonathan Stone, our Deputy! Our Student Librarian team is growing, with a great intake of Year 10s. They are Jack Cowle, Jacob Dawber, Caleb Hibbard, Ari Kibell and Harry Maxwell.

Many of the Year 9 classes have been introduced to the Library during their English class and we have a few still to go. It is great to be able to show them who we are and what books and other resources we have to offer. We enjoy getting to know them as well.

The Year 9 Reading Challenge is well underway, with students coming in to have their Reading Logs signed off.
