Regional Big Sing Festival

Palmerston North Boys' High School was represented by four groups at the recent Regional Big Sing Festival. Of the approximately 500 singers who performed at the festival, 100 were from PNBHS!

Leo Pasefika, who made their first-ever appearance at the Big Sing Regional Festival performed three songs. Leo Pasefika is directed by Old Boy Norman Pati.

Te Aitanga a Tāne, a choir composed of young men in the schoolā€™s Kapa Haka groups and Māori Performing Arts classes, also made their first-ever appearance at the regional Big Sing Festival. Te Aitanga a Tāne were awarded the Judith and Guy Donaldson Award for the best performance of a New Zealand work and were Highly Commended.

The SOAP (Son of a Pitch) Choir was Highly Commended.

MANifesto Choir was awarded the Lyric Singers Award for the best performance of a piece in the open choice category. They have qualified for the Lower North Island Cadenza and are on the reserve list for the National Finale.
