Year 10 Camp - Ohakune Outdoors Camp

By Tj and Robbie.

"On the camp Ohakune Outdoors, (the luxury camp) there are many enjoyable activities that we did including rock climbing, river rafting and many more. The Ohakune Station Lodge, where we stayed, was marvelous with snug beds. The sensational cooking by our personal chef led to scrumptious dinners and desserts.

At Station Lodge there is a trampoline where we and our friends had lots of fun. On the first day of activities, we went on a hike through the Old Coach Road. It was a wonderful hike with amazing views. It was also filled with lots of history, especially the old railroad bridge that we crossed.

On Wednesday we split into two groups, with one group staying at the lodge playing fun games to try to get points for our cabins, while the other group went rock climbing. The rock climbing was very intense and fun. We got to race up one wall whilst we were being timed. This gave a bit of competition between the boys, which made it better overall.

On the last day of activities, we went river rafting which we think was the best activity. It was a tough two-hour adventure down the sixty-odd rapids. There was one point where we were able to jump in. Everyone made the most of it with some of them launching themselves into the very chilled water. Overall, we rate the Ohakune Camp 11/10."
