Te Kura Summer School Registrations

Te Kura (Correspondence School) accepts short-term registrations over the summer break. Te Kura Summer School is a learning programme available for eligible ākonga (students) who require up to 12 NCEA credits to progress to further study, training, or employment.

Te Kura Summer School runs from 19 December 2022 to 10 February 2023.

Eligibility

Summer School ākonga must be:

  • A New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or verified domestic student
  • Residing in New Zealand
  • Registering to complete a NCEA Certificate or Endorsement requiring up to:
    • 12 credits (if registering before 16 January 2023)
    • 6 credits (if registering from 16 January 2023)

Dual ākonga - Register here

  • Enrolled in another school in 2022 and returning to school in 2023 (you may also have had a dual enrolment with both Te Kura and your school in 2022)
  • In Year 11 or 12 in 2022
  • Aiming to complete an NCEA qualification with Te Kura Summer School before returning to your school in 2023
  • Registration is free for most ākonga

Young Adult ākonga - Register here

  • Not intending to enrol in a school in 2023
  • Aged 16-19 (not turning 20 in 2023)
  • Aiming to pick up a few credits for further study, training, or employment
  • Registration is free for most ākonga

Adult ākonga - registrations open 21 November 2022

  • Not intending to enrol in a school in 2023
  • Turning 20 or older in 2023
  • Aiming to pick up a few credits for further study, training, or employment
  • Registration requires an Administration Tuition Fee of $116 per course

Current Full-time or Young Adult Te Kura ākonga - registrations open 19 December 2022

  • Currently enrolled as a Full-time or Young Adult Te Kura ākonga (not a dual enrolment with Te Kura and another school)
  • Not turning 20 in 2023
  • In Years 11-13
  • Note that My Te Kura is available throughout the summer break. Summer School is mainly for ākonga requiring up to 12 NCEA credits to progress to further study, training, or employment.
