2nd XI Cricket Update

After finishing the Premier 2 Division T20 competition in 6th place, the 2nd XI has made a very good start to the 50-over competition.

Two of the first four games were rain-affected, but results were achieved in all four games. So far we have played the following games:

Vs Marist – won by 43 runs

Batted first scoring 201/8 in 35 overs after being 4/4. Mr Max Shepherd scored 110*, Ryan Harrison 32 and Te Reimana Gray 17. In reply we bowled Marist out for 158 (2 wickets each to Ollie Murray, Mr Shepherd and Sam Kennett).

Vs Palmerston – won by 150 runs

Batted first and posted 294/6. Ollie Murray 84, Jordin Last-Harris 43, Oli Smith 38, Daniel Lampp 29*, Sam Kennett 25 and Ryan Harrison 22*. In reply Palmerston scored 154/9 with Charlie Ferguson taking 3/26.

Vs United – won by 3 wickets

Bowled first and restricted United to 121/7 in 30 overs. Charlie Ferguson 4/21 and Alex Pringle 2/15. In reply we scored 122/7 with Mr Shepherd 36*, Sam Kennett 23, Te Reimana Gray 18 and Ryan Harrison 18.

Vs PN Old Boys – won by 65 runs

Batted first and scored 272/8 after being 5/3. Ryan Harrison 87, Jordin Last-Harris 56, Mr Shepherd 65* and Oli Smith 18. In reply Old Boys were 201/6 but collapsed to 207 all out with Jordin taking 2/12 and Alex Pringle taking 2/70.

This leaves us in the top position on the league table with four wins from our first four games. A brilliant start to the 50-over competition.
